EY announces Birgit Klohs of The Right Place as Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2017 Award finalist in Michigan and Northwest Ohio

The Right Place, Inc. President and CEO Birgit Klohs has been named as a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2017 Award in the Michigan and Northwest Ohio region.

The awards program, which is celebrating its 31st year, recognizes entrepreneurs who are excelling in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Klohs was selected as a finalist by a panel of independent judges.

Award winners will be announced at a special gala event June 21 at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

“I am incredibly honored to be nominated as a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Award,” said Klohs. “The Right Place has propelled West Michigan’s economic development and growth strategy for over three decades, and I am proud to lead this great team of professionals.”

The Right Place, Inc. is a regional nonprofit economic development organization founded in 1985 and supported through investments from the private and public sector. Its mission is to promote economic growth in the areas of quality employment, productivity, and technology in West Michigan by developing jobs through leading business retention, expansion and attraction efforts.

Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National competition. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on Nov. 18, 2017.
