Grand Rapids ranked one of the best places to live in U.S.
U.S. News & World Report recently named Grand Rapids as one of the best places to live in the country.
Each year U.S. News & World Report releases a ranking of the best places to live in the United States. According to the media outlet, "To make the top of the list, a place had to have good value, be a desirable place to live, have a strong job market and a high quality of life."
This year, with a quality of life score of 7.1 and value score of 8.2, Grand Rapids ranked 16 out of the top 150. The report stated that Grand Rapids' craft brewery scene, love of public art, music, food and recreation are just some of the reasons it made its way onto the list. It also cited a healthy job market, affordable housing, the region's "booming healthcare industry" and "strong LGBTQ community."
U.S. News & World Report also rated Grand Rapids #28 in Best Places to Retire, #2 in Best Places to Live in Michigan, #11 in Cheapest Places to Live, and #18 in Best Places to Live for Quality of Life.
