Looking to move where the job opportunities are? Well look no further, because Grand Rapids businesses have reported some of the top hiring outlooks in the U.S.

In 2015, Forbes named Grand Rapids as the second worst city in the nation for African Americans to prosper. This came as a stark contrast to the long list of accolades the region receives on an annual basis. Our community has been tackling this topic head-on, but there is still a lot more work to be done. Which is why The Right Place recently hosted an Investor Breakfast at the West Michigan Center for Arts and Technology (WMCAT) on the topic of Supplier Diversity.

The future of work is changing, and while no one can definitively lay claim to its landscape, businesses are already strategizing in anticipation of the imminent disruption. While much of what’s to come is still unknown, we can be relatively confident the future of work will be characterized by rapid technological adoption driven by high-speed mobile internet, artificial intelligence, big data analytics and cloud technology.

Today The Right Place, Inc., in collaboration with the City of Newaygo, announced that wood component manufacturer, G-M Wood Products, will be expanding its current facility at 460 Clay Street in Newaygo. This expansion will result in the creation of 20 new jobs and a capital investment of $6.5 million.

Recently, the National Association of Realtors (NAR) released a report from a study analyzing where millennials are currently living and moving to across the U.S. The study analyzed employment gains, populations trends, income levels and housing conditions in 100 of the largest metropolitan areas across the country.
