“We are excited about this new growth chapter in Jedco’s history,” said Dan Szymanski, CEO and Chairman of the Board, Jedco, Inc. “The Right Place, the MEDC, and the City of Grand Rapids provided the support and business case we needed to continue growing here in the city.”
Jedco is a fabricator of gas turbine engine and other aerospace components produced from high strength, high temperature alloys with a specialized focus on engineered flaps, seals, combustor cans, and shields. The company currently employs 167 high-skilled employees at its 111,000 sq. ft. facility on the west side of Grand Rapids.
Jedco’s core manufacturing capabilities include: welding, thermal forming, machining, mechanical forming and rolling, and chemical cleaning and etching. With NADCAP certifications in several manufacturing processes, Jedco has become a critical aerospace manufacturer in the region.
“Michigan has doubled-down on its efforts to support the aerospace and defense industry in the state, said Eric Icard, Senior Business Development Manager, The Right Place, Inc. “Jedco is a perfect example of how Michigan manufacturers can provide expert supply chain support to these two growing industries.”
With increased sales expected over the next several years, Jedco needs to expand its operations. In order to meet customer demand, the company needs to increase production and overall capacity.
The MEDC is supporting the new development with the approval of a $215,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant.
