The Right Place, Inc. announces promotion of Business Development team member

Today, The Right Place, Inc., announced the promotion of its business development team member, Julie Burrell.

Burrell came to The Right Place in 2018 as Business Development Coordinator for Newaygo County. In this role, she was responsible for all economic development activities in Newaygo County, including traditional business retention, expansion and attraction. She led several notable projects in the county, including HarbisonWalker International’s $9M expansion in 2019 and Gerber Products’ $35M expansion in 2020.

As Business Development Manager, Burrell will continue leading the charge on economic development efforts in Newaygo County, in addition to providing regional leadership on entrepreneurship in The Right Place’s rural communities.

Recognizing that economic development in rural communities covers a broader scope of needs than that of larger cities like Grand Rapids, Burrell will also expand her purview to focus on strategic community development projects, similar to the unique collaboration with Sable Homes, The City of Newaygo and the Newaygo County Brownfield Authority, which resulted in a $3.2M housing development.
