Grand Rapids’ third annual Tech Week consisted of 70+ events from 120+ community partners

Today, regional economic development organization The Right Place, Inc. hosted its 2024 Economic Outlook for the Greater Grand Rapids Region.

This year presented nearly 40 different events from more than 45 community partners.

On June 1st, The Right Place hosted the inaugural Onward Michigan event. It was a day filled with inspiration and growth.

First ever State of the Region report launched by The Right Place

On December 9, 2021, over 400 key leaders from the greater Grand Rapids region logged onto a Zoom call for our 25^th Annual Economic Outlook. Viewers of the event heard from The Right Place president & CEO, Randy Thelen, and Regional Economic Specialist from the University of Michigan, Don Grimes. The question on everyone’s mind was, “What can I expect the economic forecast to be for 2022?”

The Manufacturing Leadership Summit 2021 will take place Thursday, September 23 in Grand Rapids. Presented by The Right Place, Inc. and the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center-West (The Center-West), the Summit will deliver attendees a line-up of industry experts who will touch on a wide-array of topics surrounding technology, talent and innovation.

In March, The Right Place, Inc. hosted its first investor webinar session of the year featuring the organization’s new President and CEO, Randy Thelen.

While 2020 may be in the rearview mirror, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to challenge manufacturers, forcing them to find creative solutions to new and old problems alike. Once again, the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center – West and The Right Place Inc. have partnered with MiBiz to host a new webinar series in 2021 to assist small- and medium-size manufactures in navigating the ever-changing business landscape.

In partnership with the Brookings Institution, The Right Place had the privilege of joining a cohort of cities across the country to participate in Brookings’ Inclusive Learning Lab to identify and explore the barriers that threaten to erode the competitiveness of our regional economy.
